The Role
Act as the subject matter experts on all Corporate Account agreement for GPO, IDN and Strategic Accounts. Own all Corporate Account contracts over $100M
This role will provide expert guidance, insight and leadership throughout the negotiation, contract launch and contract management with the objective of driving profitable sales growth.
The Senior Manager - Contract Administration will support the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account sales effort by leading contracting activities. This role will serve as a key contract resource to customers, field personnel, and sales leadership. Additionally, this role will ensure all customer requirements are met within the STERIS Corporate profitability objectives.
What You Will Do

  • Act as the subject matter experts on all Corporate Account agreement for GPO, IDN and Strategic Accounts.
  • Act as a liaison with outside firms, as necessary.
  • Establish lean work processes across the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account Contract Administration process. Identify ways to improve processes, eliminate waste and reduce cost in the process.
  • Responsible for training on new standards ensuring cross-functional team members have received all appropriate training. Coach cross-functional team members on any new standards and processes.
  • Take appropriate action to maintain compliance of new processes. Drive continuous improvement and quality across the team.
  • Drive the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account Contract Administration process to ensure the highest probability of winning contracted business.
  • Own the development and implementation strategies and tactics necessary for successful penetration at key Corporate Accounts. Manage all aspects of Corporate Account agreements from inception, non-normal business transactions through termination or renewal of the agreement.
  • Confer with executives, Customers and other legal counsel on a variety of contract topics.
  • Negotiate compliance-oriented agreements with assigned GPO, IDN and Strategic Accounts in order to develop long term relationships and maintain a favorable image of STERIS Corporation.
  • Identify and develop alternative market opportunities through Corporate contacts that are not a part of the field sales representative's normal call patterns.

  • Interface directly with the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account customers in support of STERIS' sales effort.
  • Review, detail, and prepare the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bids/contracts for the NA Healthcare division. Review, approve and accept contracts for STERIS to include details such as pricing, delivery, terms and conditions, taxes, and ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws. Ensure appropriate signatories based on STERIS standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate the GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bid requests for adequate information and determine products to bid on based on bid specifications. Obtain added details from sales, Product Managers, manufacturing, legal, and other appropriate departments as required.
  • Process GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bid requests within established time frame.
  • Interface with various departments within STERIS to ensure completion of GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bids & contracts to meet customers due date. Departments may include, Product Management, Manufacturing, Field Sales, Corporate & Strategic Accounts, Legal, etc.
  • Investigate prior GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bid awards to STERIS' competition, driving a post-mortem analysis. Disseminate post-mortem analyses to business leadership sharing insights on how STERIS can improve future opportunities.
  • Review GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bids for application of pre-negotiated pricing policies, i.e. National Accounts and government contracts.
  • Establish and maintain GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bid document files, to include maintenance of current and historical records regarding pricing, costs, and awards. Drive towards electronic file sharing & storage.
  • Continue investigative effort to ensure all possible options are exhausted for receiving GPO, IDN and Strategic Account bid requests.

  • Ensure GPO, IDN and Strategic Account contract awards are properly established within STERIS operational systems (e.g. Oracle, Flagship, etc) to ensure accurate customer pricing, payment terms, freight policies, rebate structures, administration fee agreements and other value drivers as directed by these contracts.
  • Communicate awards to appropriate Product Managers, Sales Leadership, Finance and Customer Service teams.
  • Maintain a tracking system for those States that require transaction fees for those state agencies and institutions required to purchase products through a web-based system through their State. This would include reviewing all invoices to confirm actual dollars owed; redirecting invoices to the appropriate business units for payment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Be Successful
• Knowledge of pricing concepts, mark-ups, margins, cost of goods, and the STERIS product line. Sales experience is desirable. Corporate Accounts experience or Sales Management is preferred.
• Experience working in a large, healthcare environment; knowledge of hospital market.
• Knowledge of consumable and capital product lines. Demonstrated experience in comprehending complex legal material.
• Prior experience supervising a team.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated track record in providing exceptional Customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a consultative environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Fifteen+ years of proven management experience in a large, complex organization
• Seven+ years of proven management experience in overseeing, managing and/or coordinating large, complex contracts, agreements and/or vendors.
