Substitute nurses are paid hourly and can choose the days they work!
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Nursing or related field preferred
School based experience
Knowledge of pediatrics and public health
Registered Nurse
Connecticut Nursing License
Daily Substitute Nurses will be contacted to fill in for School Nurses who are absent. The hourly rate is $30.00 per hour.
In order to be considered as a sub nurse candidate, the applicant will need to have practical experience in the following areas:
Diabetics with insulin pumps (Knowledge of continuous glucose monitors is also helpful as well as Glucagon administration)
G-tube feeds
Epilepsy (Diastat administration)
Asthma (inhaler and nebulizer administration)
Anaphylaxis (Epi-pen administration)
Familiarity with tracheotomy care/suctioning/replacement and ventilators
