The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer will identify and drive manufacturing improvements in order to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals. The CI Engineer will train and implement lean principles throughout the site. In addition, the CI Engineer will coordinate, track, expedite and maintain the status of improvement projects and processes within the facilities and support identification and deployment of new manufacturing technologies.

What You Will Do:
  • Implement lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives including value steam mapping processes, kaizen events, 5S, visual factory, and other lean tools and principles in alignment with the ASC Business System
  • Facilitate lean daily management and drive adoption of standard work; deploy and coach proven problem-solving methods.
  • Manage and support equipment maintenance initiatives.
  • Providing formal and informal lean training, and coach on good manufacturing, processing, and lean methods throughout the site
  • Assist with identifying and researching new machining technology, including analyzing product and equipment specifications to support decisions on machine maintenance, tooling, etc.
  • Provide training and technical information concerning manufacturing and/or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect plant and product planning.
  • Prepare capital expenditure proposals and the implementation of subsequent process and projects.
  • Support technology innovation throughout the site
  • Engage in the company wide network of CI practitioners to accelerate best practice sharing, process and tool development.
  • Provide engineering support in lean, quality, productivity, ergonomics and safety.

What You'll Have:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or other technical field (equivalent experience considered)
  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing with 1 year in Lean/CI implementation focus, including experience leading/facilitating kaizen events
  • Experience in practical application of lean tools like Kaizen, VSM, Problem Solving, Daily Management, TPM, 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, Poke Yoke, and others
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and within the future
  • Travel up to 25% or as needed
  • Experience in machining, including familiarity with blueprints and working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and/or pneumatic systems

Preferred:
  • Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement certifications
  • Project Management and Quality Management experience
  • CNC programming knowledge/experience
