Job Summary
Ruggable is seeking a passionate Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to join our thriving team in Bedford Park, IL. What You'll Do:
- Prioritize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by conducting in-depth studies and implementing sustainable improvements. Focus on driving equipment efficiency through hands-on design and implementation, seamlessly integrating manufacturing engineering and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodologies to elevate manufacturing excellence, seamlessly blending engineering expertise with Continuous Improvement strategies.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of lean projects aimed at reducing waste, enhancing quality, and delivering greater value. Implement the lean toolkit, incorporating standard work, 5S, line balancing, SMED, VSM, DMS, and Kaizen to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Lead and train cross-functional Continuous Improvement teams, concentrating on measurable goals related to quality, delivery, and cost efficiency. Bridge the gap between manufacturing engineering and Continuous Improvement, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Design and construct robust, scalable processes tailored for new products. Seamlessly integrate manufacturing engineering principles with Continuous Improvement methodologies to ensure efficiency and adaptability.
- Conduct time studies to establish a steady-state workflow, harmonizing manufacturing engineering insights with Continuous Improvement practices for optimal efficiency.
- Train, coach, and motivate personnel, blending manufacturing engineering principles with innovative Continuous Improvement techniques. Empower the team to understand and adopt new methodologies that seamlessly integrate both disciplines.
- Drive the standardization of processes and implement metrics and best practices, fostering a cohesive and efficient operational framework that harmonizes manufacturing engineering and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Collaborate in setting annual operational targets, utilizing your hybrid expertise to actively drive improvements and achieve these targets. Your role is pivotal in aligning manufacturing engineering goals with broader operational enhancements.
What You'll Need to Have
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in plant manufacturing, showcasing a proven track record in solving and designing equipment/process improvements.
- Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive key metrics, utilizing tools such as Looker and Google Sheets.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing including OEE, 5S, KPI, SMED, VSM, DMS, One Piece Flow, and Kaizen.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in conversational Spanish, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken forms.
- Possession of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or an equivalent level of expertise, showcasing a commitment to process improvement and operational efficiency.
Compensation:
- $80.000-$$85,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
