Job Title: Content Marketing Manager

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt, At-Will

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Department: Sales and Marketing

Location: Remote


Race Communications is only accepting remote candidates who reside in the following states: California, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii, Florida and Oklahoma. If you do not reside in one of these states, you are not eligible for remote employment.


Location Status:
Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee will be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to applicable procedures. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.

Summary:

The Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading the Content Marketing team, developing, and executing comprehensive brand and content strategies to enhance our brand identity, engage our target audience, and drive business growth. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills to effectively deliver consistent brand messages and engaging content across various channels.

The Content Marketing Manager exercises significant independent judgement, problem solving, and discretion in the development and implementation of marketing systems with minimal direct supervision. This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while effectively managing and motivating team members. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field experience
  • Proven experience 7+ in brand management, Content Marketing, or a similar role
  • Strong expertise in content strategy, creation, and distribution across various channels
  • Strong understanding and proficiency in SEO and google analytics
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt the tone and style for different audiences
  • Demonstratable proficiency in email marketing platforms, content management systems (CMS), and presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote)
  • Proven visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail
  • Demonstratable project management skills with a track record of running multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstratable experience with editing and proofing both video and editorial content
  • Familiarity with digital marketing analytics and reporting tools to measure the impact of brand and Content Marketing efforts
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and edits content for social media posts, blogs, white papers, website landing pages and other media
  • Meets with content team members to track progress, assess workload capacity, ensure adherence to editorial calendar deadlines, and makes adjustments to workflows as necessary
  • Collaborates with colleagues in marketing, product, sales, and other departments to uphold consistent style and branding guidelines
  • Analyzes content performance metrics and refining content strategy accordingly

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead the Content Marketing team to produce high-quality content aligned with the company’s marketing goals and brand voice
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to team members to help them grown and develop their skills
  • Set clear objectives and goals for the content team, and track progress towards achieving them
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in Content Marketing and share insights and recommendations with the team
  • Represents the content team in cross-functional meetings, presentations, and discussions with senior leadership
  • Fosters a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement

Develop and Execute Content Strategy:


  • Serves as content editor for blogs, articles, websites, emails, webinars, social media and other formats to ensure continuity in tone and voice throughout the brand
  • Develops, implements, and executes content strategy that drive engagement, traffic, and conversations across various channels, including website, social media, email, and more
  • Research content performance, customer behavior data and competitors’ strategies
  • Analyzes performance metrics and KPI’s to measure effectiveness of content initiatives and make data-driven decision to optimize results
  • Enforces style guidelines, deadlines, and budgets for content teams
  • Manages content calendars, editorial schedules, and workflows to ensure timely delivery of content projects
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure content aligns with overall business objectives and messaging
  • Works with other departments, marketers, writers, editors, and freelancers to support overall company goals and objectives


Brand Visuals:

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of brand visuals, including graphics, imagery, videos, and other multimedia assets
  • Collaborates with design teams or agencies to create visually compelling and consistent brand materials across various channels and touchpoints
  • Ensures brand visuals reflect our brand identity, values, and resonate with our target audience


Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:

  • Successfully completes assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
  • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
  • Cross-trains and shares knowledge with other team members
  • Supports routine tasks
  • Maintains a professional appearance, hygiene, and demeanor
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Direct supervision and support to employees regarding Content Marketing related issues across various practices within the department, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws and regulations
  • Supervisory responsibilities include direct supervision of subordinates, along with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Liaise with other departments and act as a management point of contact for the Content Marketing Team
  • Collaborates with team members, other departmental managers, and senior management

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Tehachapi, CA, Yuba City, CA, or South San Francisco, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary: 8-hour days are planned, but shorter days may occur depending on the group’s pace. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
