New Psalmist Baptist Church has a rich history that spans over 100 years. Under the stewardship of Bishop Walter S. Thomas, New Psalmist Baptist Church has grown to over 7000 members and in 2010 the Church moved to a brand new 4000 seat worship facility. The New Psalmist Retreat and Meeting Center (NPRMC) is the second largest meeting and event space located within the Baltimore metropolitan area. Equipped with state of the art audio, visual, lighting, promotional services and delectable catering options, our convention center and banquet hall offers its clients affordable one-stop-shop service accompanied by impeccable presentations and incomparable services.
New Psalmist Baptist Church seeks a Content Creator with experience in creating visual strategies across platforms, a commitment to excellence, and strong collaboration skills to move New Psalmist Baptist Church forward in design and visual direction. The Content Creator will conceptualize and produce compelling and persuasive video content for services, social media, and websites.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, develop, produce, and execute effective content for use across social and digital channels to support church initiatives or values.
- Assist the Creative Team with executing a consistent brand using graphics, text, and video content.
- Responsible for the setup operation, and maintenance of production equipment for New Psalmist's live, hybrid, virtual and recorded events
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technology and generate innovative ideas to draw the audience's attention.
- Produce and edit Sunday service highlights for same day uploading.
- Run tests on videos, audio, and signals and troubleshooting any problems that arise.
- Perform inventory management on equipment, wiring and accessories.
- Liaison for online streaming of Sunday Service
- Make recommendations on equipment upgrades and purchases.
- Management of content data, including organizing and archiving data.
- Manage interns/volunteers involved in the setup of A/V throughout the Church
- Ensure compliance with law (e.g., copyright and data protection)
- There is a Sunday work REQUIREMENT for this role.
Minimum Qualifications
- Always maintain a Christian outlook.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as media, video/film, marketing, or design preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Content Creator
- Work well as part of a team, but also be action oriented as an individual.
- Exceptional creative skills
- Able to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and work in a demanding environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, final cut pro, and able to learn other video and audio production software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Proficient in the use of professional video equipment
- Good working knowledge of audio/visual equipment
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Able to work varying work schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time including holding equipment while sitting or standing; walk; bend; stoop; kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, pull, push with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and move 25 pounds and be able to work in environments with loud noise. Requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills.
