Position Summary
Processes and funds a range of non-real estate Consumer Loan products. Provides members with information on credit union products and services according to credit union policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations. Assists members with general loan inquiries and with the loan application and funding process, from gathering information to finalizing loan terms. Reviews and audits loan packages to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Reviews applications for opportunities to refinance loans with other institutions to the credit union to help grow business and help to improve member’s financial situations.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Process and submit loan applications received by phone, in person, or through the CUDL system.
· Fund loans including CUDL, GoGreen and other Consumer Loan types.
· Conduct thorough pre- and post-fund audits of CUDL packages; communicate directly with dealerships regarding missing or incomplete items; follow-up to ensure loans are funded in a timely manner.
· Complete post-fund audits on loan packages that have not received branch manager review; notify branch managers of errors and missing/incomplete items and necessary steps to correct, follow up as needed.
· Assemble fully audited loan packages in proper file order.
· Barcode and scan completed loan packages, daily work and miscellaneous documents.
· Regularly process DMV title transfer paperwork and follow up as needed.
· Track titles and ELTs using reports in Dealertrack and Synergy. Ensure that liens are perfected in a timely manner.
· Knowledgeably answer loan questions from members, staff, dealerships and contractors.
· Process loan transactions, including payoffs, refunds, payment adjustments and reversals.
· Cross-sell credit union products and services.
· Cross train to approve/deny Quick Cash loans.
· Must be highly organized and able to prioritize duties on a daily basis; must possess ability to multi-task and work efficiently during high-volume periods.
· Support Loan Clerk duties as needed.
· Understand and follow the CU’s BSA-AML compliance program including but not limited to:
- Filing Suspicious Activity Reports
- Conducting OFAC checks in accordance with the CU’s OFAC screening procedures
· Understand and apply Consumer Loan rules and regulations; complete training courses as assigned.
· Represent the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
· 1-2 years loan experience preferred, 1+ years of financial experience required.
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· Must be bondable.
· Must possess knowledge of loan regulations and laws, as well as internal policies and procedures.
· Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to problem solve.
· Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills; position requires frequent phone and email communication with members and dealers.
· Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and effectively navigate frequent interruptions.
· Must maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with co-workers, members and business associates.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
· Work in an office environment, requiring the use of office equipment, such as personal computers, printers, scanners and copy machines.
· Must be able to frequently move around the office to perform lending and sales activities.
· Occasionally work long hours to meet members’ needs, keep up with fluctuating volume and meet established goals and targets.
· Must be able to periodically travel to other branches and places of business and meetings by car or public transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.58 per hour
