Job Description
DDI’s Consultants leverage their business experience to lead client engagements, with a primary focus on solutions that drive leadership development, selection, and promotion. They demonstrate versatile consulting capability, are technically conversant, and work seamlessly within strategic account teams (sales, consulting, project management) to drive superior client value. Leveraging their unique expertise, Consultants are also strongly committed to driving commercial growth for DDI. A key component of this position will be driving forward DDI’s new approach to managing and supporting annually recurring revenue. This approach enables leaders to unlock DDI’s world-class content and support services for our clients, allowing them to “make development a way of work.” While this position does not have a sales quota, Consultants “fiercely” collaborate with account managers (sales) and project managers to renew and expand business within their portfolio.
This position is viewed as a “feeder” position to more advanced roles within DDI. With time and progression, there will be opportunities to expand into broader consulting opportunities within DDI that are focused on driving value to customers as business and talent advisors. This will include deeper exposure into our other solutions (including, assessments, profiling, coaching, and others) to create more integrated experiences for leaders. This can also include engaging with our largest multinational clients.
Responsibilities
Leadership Consulting:
- Leverages strong business acumen and analysis skills to incorporate client business context into solution design and/or implementation.
- Creatively integrates assessment and development options across the leadership pipeline based upon client needs (i.e., serves as a solutions architect).
- Leverages blended learning methodologies (classroom/virtual classroom, e-learning, web-based applications of learning technologies, games/simulations, etc.) to design unique competency-based learning journeys to meet client’s needs.
- Consults across a portfolio of clients that are leveraging solutions through an annually recurring model and is targeted for front-line leaders.
- Conducts delivery activities including facilitation of leadership training programs, business driver and job analysis activities, needs analyses, and assessment feedback and data reviews, all with high impact and effectiveness.
- Mobilizes, leverages, and supports strong project management and consulting resources to effectively deliver value to clients. Utilizes this skillset across a broad range of DDI clients to ensure efficiency across their portfolio.
Business Advisor & Client Management:
- Engages with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business strategies, priorities, and industry drivers to determine key leadership development needs.
- Demonstrates current market knowledge related to digital leadership, agile leadership, change management, diversity and inclusion, women in leadership, transforming organizations, role transitions and common leadership pitfalls.
- Leads client project teams to ensure timeline expectations, execution, service profitability, scope management, and resource optimization.
- Supports senior consulting resources as a workstream lead and/or delivery resource within larger accounts.
- Manages and scales a robust portfolio of clients, including annually recurring subscriptions, assessment accounts, and others. Proactively manages time to ensure the most energy and commitment is given to the most valuable areas. Effectively partners with DDI Leadership to avoid resourcing constraints.
- Manages multiple priorities and clients via proactive communication, time management and flawless execution.
Business Development:
- Proactively creates and demonstrates client value, leading to renewal and expansion of DDI services.
- Tenaciously runs towards and puts energy into sustainable strategic partnerships as well as revenue growth.
- Translates expertise into meaningful customer-centered points of views to provide both insights and foresight around key business and talent needs.
- Partner with account owners to understand and execute the account strategy, including proactively sharing information with the account owner to take appropriate follow up actions.
- Minimum 4 years of experience, ideally as a consultant focused on Leadership consulting (development, promotion, selection).
- Experience in creating competency-based learning journeys combining multiple learning methods (classroom, virtual classroom, e-learning, assessment, games, etc.).
- Experience with delivery activities (e.g., facilitating leadership development courses, providing feedback, conducting needs analyses, etc.).
- Commercial acumen and understanding of how organizations manage their business.
- Demonstration of progressive achievement, high work standards and energy.
- Displays high impact communication, strong client management skills and customer focus.
- Strong influencing skills. Ability to adjust approach based on audience.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. Maintains confidence and creates practical solutions to manage complexity.
- Ability to demonstrate value and insight to renew and grow relationships.
- Ability/willingness to travel – estimated max of 25% in the future.
Salary: The anticipated hiring range for this position is listed below.
Variable Pay: 10% of salary
