This position serves as an advisor for clients and project manager and/or reviewer of various client projects. Collaborates with Account Managers and Lead Actuaries to manage service delivery and maintain strong client relationships. Contribute to new business development efforts and corporate initiatives, as appropriate. May serve as lead actuary for some accounts and/or supervise junior staff members.

Responsibilities
Leads the preparation of and reviews the work of others on recurring projects such as:
- Actuarial valuations and financial reporting for qualified and non-qualified pension plans
- Participant notices and government filings
- Reports and presentations of valuation results and hot topics
- Benefit accounting calculations including curtailments and settlements
- Cost projections and sensitivity analysis
- Other responsibilities include:
- Provides regular consulting and guidance for clients by phone and in person
- Performs or reviews ad-hoc projects such as benefit design studies, non-discrimination testing, lump sum windows, and various other cost and risk management projects
- Provides collective bargaining support
- Reviews QDRO calculations and other actuarial calculations for benefits
- Contributes to the completion of complex benefit administration special projects
- Works on standard and/or unfunded pension plan terminations
- Reviews drafts of plan amendments, QDROs, SPDs, etc. drafted by Compliance consultants
- Provides leadership and training to Associates and Consultants, perhaps serving as direct supervisor
- Regularly looks for ways to optimize efficiency by improving procedures and practices
- Opportunities to prepare stochastic cost projections and Modeling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Math, actuarial science, finance, or economics concentration preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or related area
- Enrolled Actuary (EA) or Associate of Society of Actuaries preferred, but not required
- Experience with pension plan terminations a plus
- Experience performing stochastic cost projections a plus
