Form of workThe Mayo Clinic Arizona (MCA) Department of Psychiatry and Psychology seeks an academic psychiatrist with interest and experience in psycho-oncology for a position primarily focused on the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in cancer patients at the MCA Cancer Center. The Department's primary mission is the diagnosis and management of psychiatric and substance use disorders in medically ill populations. The successful applicant would join a dynamic clinical team of psychiatrists, clinical health psychologists and neuropsychologists practicing in Clinic and Hospital settings. As an academic position, it would include opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as engagement in clinical research. The Mayo model of care involves multi-disciplinary teams offering evidenced-based biologic and psychosocial treatments in a patient-focused, highly professional, and compassionate environment. Fellowship training and certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry or Psycho-oncology is desirable, though not required. Our practice is exclusively outpatient apart from a hospital consultation-liaison service, which has a rotational call schedule.
