Construction Site Foreman.

The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with an established and growing construction company in Columbus, OH is seeking a Construction Site Foreman with pay up to $35 an hour + Bonus based on skill set & experience. Come join their team!

What will the Foreman do? 

The Foreman is responsible for supervising and managing the trade-specific services provided by the company on assigned projects. The Foreman enforces the company's policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and ensures that construction deadlines are met.

Responsibilities of the Foreman:

• Completes safety planning and ensures safety awareness for the trade specific scope of the project being completed by the company
• Aware of other trades on the project to ensure their activities do not endanger the safety of the crews
• Completes routine project documents including daily work reports, weekly toolbox talks, and job hazard analysis
• Tracks units put in place, crew size and productivity to ensure the project is meeting or exceeding bid time production rates
• Reviews the project schedule on a regular basis to ensure that the project is on or ahead of schedule
• Documents any schedule delays, safety concerns, detrimental site conditions or other issues that affect the ability to perform work in a safe and productive manner
• Knows the company's assigned scope of work and coordinates with the project manager on any tasks that fall outside this scope before starting
• Reviews Client requirements and works with the Client managers to assure appropriate personnel are on the project
• Reviews equipment requirements and works with the equipment manager to assure the needed equipment is onsite
• Facilitates daily coordination meeting with all trades
• Manages quality of work put in place (both self-performed work and subcontractors)
• Receives and reviews all material deliveries to make sure the delivery matches what is shown on the delivery ticket
• Checks deliveries for possible damage and/or quality issues and reports to the appropriate department
• Collects, organizes, and properly codes all delivery tickets and submits to project manager
• Works with project manager to review job cost reports and control costs for the project
• Maintains an up-to-date set of as-built documents
• Regularly communicates with the owner/client to confirm that the project is meeting owner's expectations
• Coordinates the management of the company's subcontractors with the PM
• Adheres to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 30 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Appropriate education or a combination of experience and training that equips an individual with the necessary skills, knowledge, and qualities to effectively perform Foreman duties
• Ability to read, follow and provide input on a construction schedule
• Thorough knowledge of the company's safety plan and OSHA regulations
• Ability to read blueprints is required
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
• Excellent work ethic and attendance is required
• Capable of regularly working in outdoor weather conditions that may be wet, hot, humid, or freezing, and dealing with dirt and dust
• Able to work in a team environment
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills is a must
• Must be willing to submit to a drug screen for employment
