From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

 

Kleinfelder is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurially minded Team Leader to join our established Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) practice in North Carolina.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years in the construction inspection and testing industry with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a group of construction inspection and testing professionals with varied certifications, specialties, and experience to achieve performance and growth goals.
  • Proven success with the operations and logistics of running a team of construction services professionals.
  • Candidates with appropriate combination of certifications, applicable management experience, and education will be considered.
  • Though not required for consideration, candidates with a BS degree in civil/structural engineering, construction management, or a construction related field are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of inspection and jurisdiction requirements, including understanding of ICC, ACI, AWS, and NCDOT certifications.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, grow, recruit, and mentor employees to success.
  • Technical expertise to assist in proposal writing and pricing
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and teaming partners to provide engineering, construction, and professional consulting services in a trusted advisory role.
  • Proactively network with clients, teaming partners, and industry partners to understand the market trends, needs, and future opportunities to create a return on the Investment.
  • Maintain awareness of industry economic information and project development information such as interconnection applications within targeted geographic regions.
  • Understand the clients' business needs and develop innovative, value-added solutions and cost-effective recommendations to exceed client needs.
  • Coordinate project delivery and proposal teams with clear and succinct communication as to the client requirements and differentiation strategies.
  • Experience with oversight of multiple complementary field operations.
  • Well-developed presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient technical writer/detailed reviewer of data/reports.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Teams/Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Current driver's license with acceptable (i.e., good) driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Directs and oversees all aspects of materials operations, resulting in timely and cost-effective delivery of
materials, equipment, services and labor to project sites. Collaborates with clients, project management, subcontractors and other management entities on major issues to ensure material requirements are met and that problems are resolved in a timely fashion. Manages assigned staff.
Works independently, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to
accomplish goals and objectives and solve problems of diverse scope.

Plans for and uses resources efficiently, always looks for ways to reduce costs, creates accurate and
realistic budgets, tracks and adjusts budgets, contributes to budget planning.

    teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals, shares information and
    solicits feedback.
