Construction Inspector
Summary:
Our client, named to the Top 500 Design Firms list by Engineering News-Record, is seeking a Construction Inspector based in Burlington, WI. The Construction Inspector will oversee municipal work related to public infrastructure, including roadway, storm sewer, and pavement projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects adhere to municipal guidelines and regulations, are completed on time, and meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with municipal regulations and safety standards.
- Review and approve construction plans, specifications, and materials to ensure compliance with municipal standards and regulations.
- Perform inspections on roadways, storm sewers, and pavement projects to ensure work is performed correctly and meets quality standards.
- Document and report any deviations or non-compliance issues to the construction manager and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, change orders, and project closeout documents.
- Communicate effectively with construction teams, contractors, and project managers to ensure that construction projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Attend meetings with municipal officials, contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates on project status and resolve any issues.
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management a plus
- Experience construction inspection in municipal
- Knowledge of municipal regulations, standards, and safety procedures related to roadway, storm sewer, and pavement construction.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from construction sites. Working Environment
- Onsite to specific project locations
- May require nights/weekends
