Position Summary:
We are looking for highly qualified and experienced Full Time- Construction Field Inspectorwho has worked on private, federal, state or locally administered construction projects. The Inspector is responsible for managing and performing daily construction management and inspection services for various types of projects specific to the applicable discipline.
Primary Location:
- Candidate must live within a commutable distance of Little Rock, Arkansas
- Position will be a Remote and In Office role making it a Hybrid work schedule
- In office days will be based on business needs and could range between 1 – 5 days a week
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
- This job will require you to travel around your selected area/district with a mileage reimbursement of $0.54/mi.
Essential Functions:
- Construction management
- Performing field inspection of Contractor's operations to see that they comply with contract documents
- Perform a review of initial construction scopes previously approved by QA/QC team.
- Review Construction Milestone Inspections Pre-Inspection Packages and Reports
- Address with Construction Managers the Grant Manager Construction Quality Reviews and review follow up for corrections to be completed
- Monitor all construction activities and follow up with Construction Managers on current milestone completion dates.
- Preparing monthly reports on work accomplished by Contractor
- Reviewing Contractor schedules including initial CPM and monthly updates
- Communicating effectively with the Program operational and field staff on a regular basis, keeping them apprised of field conditions and maintaining active communications and excellent rapport with the Owner and the entire project team throughout the construction process
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have relevant construction experience in the discipline applying in addition to the required certifications and qualifications
- Must be proficient at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings as well as overseeing construction document controls and enforcing contract compliance
- Three (3) years of specific field construction inspection experience
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to read/interpret plans and specifications
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or other advanced certificate
- Experience in Broadband Construction practices both wireline and wireless
- Demonstrated inspection and management experience with transportation, utility, transit, and/or building construction projects requiring monitoring a contractor's work for conformance to the design plans, specifications and general permit requirements
- Must have experience in coordinating inspection duties with multiple simultaneously operating crews; experience tracking daily quantities, completing daily inspection reports, performing monthly estimates and as-built drawings.
