As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing cost estimates for various civil engineering projects, including solid waste landfills, retention ponds, wastewater treatment facilities, mining, and oil and gas projects. You will work closely with our Sales staff, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales staff to estimate new projects on our bid schedule.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accurate bid schedule.
- Prepare and send Request for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors and subcontractors as needed.
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize AutoCAD to prepare material take-offs.
- Review estimates with Senior Construction Estimator, Sales Staff, and Construction Services Department (CSD) to strategize for each project.
- Create final estimates and review awarded projects with CSD and Project Managers.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or technical school education in a construction-related field.
- 3-5 years of estimating experience in a construction environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer applications including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Clear and effective communication skills for written reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information confidently and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, vendors, and coworkers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $82,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
