 Project Resources Group has led construction management and plant damage recovery services since 2001. PRG's mission focuses on providing strategic resources for industries and businesses, delivering customized consulting solutions for cable MSOs and service providers.
 
We seek a Construction Engineering Manager with a background in cable/telephone company outside plant experience to manage projects in the area. You will be responsible for field oversight of engineering construction progress, quality control, and reporting. You must be proactive and have solid, positive communication skills.

What you’ll do

• Oversee both FTTH layout including cabinet placement, cabinet sizing, distance, resiliency design for future builds, back-bone, splitter standards, splicing and fiber utilization parameters.
• Select and manage FTTH Construction Engineering partners to support rapid expansion into new service areas
• Conduct field verifications drive-outs once engineering prints are finalized to assure constructability
• Partner with construction when engineering redesigns are necessary during construction.
• Incorporate best XGS-PON design along with most resilient cabinet design based on fiber backbone options.
• Keeps clients and others informed about project status and issues impacting client relations.
• Attend contractor meetings and calls as necessary.
• Implement new processes and procedures as set forth by the construction department.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of telecom fiber engineering experience
• Must have FTTx and MDU experience
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi-site construction projects
• Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training is a plus.
• Candidate must have own vehicle in acceptable condition (to be determined by hiring manager) & a valid driver’s license - mileage reimbursement will be paid at the standard Federal rate.

• $85k-$95K/yr depending upon experience
