Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Construction Engineer 1, we'll count on you to:
- Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution
- While not otherwise involved in project-specific work, support other project and proposal efforts, including estimating, procurement and project controls, and coordinating, expediting, and tracking construction submittals
- Read, clearly understand and interpret construction drawings
- Set up and maintaining project files.
- Write construction change orders.
- Process required documents and progress payments.
- Understand Prevailing Wage Laws and Regulations.
- Monitor and enforce labor compliance.
- Use Computers, computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
- Understand Subcontracting laws and policies.
- Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
- 2 of the years in related experience in Caltrans Highway Office Engineering and in roadway construction inspection
- Microsoft Office, Prolog (basic), Timberline and Primavera
- Strong people skills, ability to interact with the design team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $56,640.00 - $98,280.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Compensation may increase/vary if/when services are performed that are covered by California's Prevailing Wage laws on public sector projects or are covered by other applicable wage and hour laws.
