What We Do

Work as a dynamic team providing best in class service and support in the commercial real estate space. At First American we provide our teams with the support, tools, and technology that they need to ensure that providing unparalleled customer service is your primary focus. We are looking to add a Construction Disbursement Officer (National) to our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for the processing of construction disbursing transactions; receiving, tracking, and processing construction draws; and maintaining compliance with the specific requirements of each disbursing project. This position plays a key role in transforming the commercial real estate experience by empowering our employees and customers to deliver next-generation solutions and results.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor a high volume portfolio of disbursing projects, ensuring timely and effective processing of construction disbursing transactions and construction draws.
  • Review, negotiate, and comply with the terms of disbursing agreement, and send notices to payees when funds are available
  • Work cross-functionally with underwriters, lenders, project managers, accountants, contractors, owners, and other project parties to review and resolve issues or questions regarding the draw process and/or draw documentation.
  • Responsible to order date down endorsements, submit requests for funds and review pending payments for checks and wires to be issued.
  • File management (i.e. maintaining construction disbursing documentation and other information into shared hard drives).
  • Analyze monthly reports including trial balances and outstanding check logs.
  • Follow functional area’s processes and procedures in daily activities, troubleshoot as needed and recommend suggestions for continuous improvements to overall operations.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • 2-4 years of escrow related experience, preferably as a Commercial Escrow Officer with construction review and disbursing experience
  • Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal and external customers; uses various types of communication to meet customer expectations and build relationships
  • Hands-on experience in AIA billing and lien waivers a plus
  • Problem solving with strong organizational skills, detail oriented and knows how to navigate internal and external resources to resolve issues
  • Comfortableness working with technology and proprietary programs; adapts quickly to new software applications and technologies
  • Thrives in contributing to a team, working together to achieve goals and objectives
  • At a minimum, High School Diploma/Equivalent

**This is a remote role**

Pay Range: $27.35-$48.62 hourly
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
