The Impact You’ll Make:
As a Director of Construction, you’ll have the opportunity to join a fast-growing, brand reputable company, owning and managing the end-to-end construction process for new store development, resales, remodels and franchise renewals. You will implement design and construction guidelines and manage all architectural and construction activities involved with refreshing and remodeling all locations.
Location:This position will require working onsite at our home office in Sandy Springs, GA 4-5 days per week
What that looks like day to day:
- Develops and manages budgets consistent with timeline requirements for medium to large-scale new store development or renovation projects.
- Manages and monitors project schedules within budget guidelines, progress, and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and effectively.
- Oversees region scheduling, bid negotiations and consultant relationships.
- Track progress of all projects against approved timelines and goals, communicating project status to project participants and stakeholders accurately and on time including all issues and risks affecting the project.
- Monitors general contractor and vendor performance during construction build-out phase, which may include site visits and reporting
- Oversees ordering and tracking of materials and equipment.
- Maintain established construction schedules, as well as store opening calendar weekly, providing key contacts internally and externally with estimated store opening dates
- Implement the company’s business policies, programs, specifications, and procedures related to planning, design and construction of Edible locations.
- Manages the permitting and approval phase of the development process and ensures all proper approvals have been received prior to initiated possession or construction phase.
- Oversees and maintains relationships with external professionals and consultants, including jurisdictions and planning commissions to ensure seamless store openings.
- Oversees bidding process and contract negotiations. Ensures company's contract policies are followed.
- Maintains and monitors active General Contractor (GC) pool for adequate numbers, quality of workmanship and service level.
- Review franchise lease documents and other construction documents as needed
- Provide annual input for Franchise disclosure document updates
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to reporting, strategy meetings and process and cost improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- 6+ years' experience in a restaurant construction management, and project management with familiarity with front and back of house construction required
- Construction management experience within a high-growth franchise organization highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business management, Construction or related field preferred
