CDL Class A Driver
SWI Excavating is looking for an experienced Lowboy/Tandem/End Dump CDL A Driver to serve our operations team in a safe and timely manner. SWI Excavating has been in business since 1997 and can handle a wide variety of excavating, demolition and utilities projects.

Responsibilities

• Transport heavy equipment from yard to jobsite, with the ability to properly load and chain all equipment safely (excavators, skid steers, loaders)
• Must have experience with heavy equipment operation and trucking (end-dump, lowboy trailer, dump trucks, equipment hauling etc)
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform basic preventative maintenance
• Document and log work periods and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• While on job sites, assist pipe crews with basic tasks or utility installation work as can be done safely
• Experience with underground utility projects is a plus

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver (3 years driving CDL Class A and 1 year driving in the city experience)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid truck driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
