Job description

The University of Iowa’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC), located within the Tippie College of Business, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Constituent Relations Coordinator.



The Constituent Relations Coordinator is responsible for: database management and reporting by working closely with Iowa JPEC faculty/staff, college, university, and Center for Advancement staff to maintain the integrity of Iowa JPEC alumni, program participants, and friends of Iowa JPEC information. Additionally, this position is responsible for the implementation of a pro-active alumni management and engagement system and tracking of major activities of these individuals/participants. This role coordinates Iowa JPEC Advisory Council meetings and associated events alongside other Iowa JPEC staff and works closely with university partners to coordinate regular engagement with alumni. Additional responsibility includes the collection and reporting of data of graduating seniors, program participants, and alumni for inclusion in annual reports, external surveys, and Iowa JPEC and university publications.

Specific Job Duties and Tasks:

Message Development and Implementation

  • Collaborate with college to ensure JPEC scholarships are listed accurately on the student scholarship portal and verify scholarship information is up-to-date on websites.
  • Provide marketing support and compilation of data as needed.

Public Relations

  • Communicate with donors and send student thank-you letters.
  • Communicate with scholarship winners (thank-you letters/waivers).
  • Provide support as needed with student treks and alumni site visits.
  • Collaborate and provide support as needed for Pro Prep class alumni mentoring program.

Information Management

  • Responsible for data collection and reporting for the Princeton Review, continuing education units, Board of Regents requests, and Impact data reports.
  • Responsible for adding, working with, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date alumni data in local storage and/or within Salesforce.

Financial Responsibility

  • Responsible for donor intent management including tracking and sending donor thank-yous, tracking donor intent files, tracking donor intent amounts needed for events and competitions and ensuring these amounts are awarded, and ensuring donations are spent along donor intent.
  • Responsible for tracking engagement, donations, and follow-ups.

Hybrid within Iowa: This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Salary: $40,527-$47,770

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferable in business administration and/or marketing) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of program management work experience and knowledge of event planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship building skills with a variety of individuals and groups, including peers, leadership, and external constituents.
  • Excellent written and organizational skills.
  • Professional communication skills with demonstrated ability to represent Iowa JPEC at professional networking and alumni events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain UI’s Fleet Safety Standards.


Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
  • Experience in an academic and fundraising setting.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
