Small, new, family owned and operated, Strafello Precast Inc., is looking for a full-time Concrete Laborer. We are seeking someone with a good attitude and who is a self-starter. This position is full time, permanent and we are looking to fill it immediately. NO EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED!!! Ideal candidates will have experience with forming, pouring and finishing concrete. Knowledge of foundation type panel set up is a plus BUT NOT NECESSARY. Construction labor, material handling, heavy equipment operation, rebar tying and fabrication/ related work experience is a plus BUT NOT NECESSARY.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Strip and clean concrete forms
- Rebar, wire mesh handling, prepare concrete forms
- Pour & finish concrete into prepared forms
- Equipment operation to move structures
- Housekeeping- keep work stations & shop clean and free of hazards
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more
- Ability to stand and walk on feet all day
- Squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending & twisting of the body or neck may be required to facilitate the lifting of items to add to the production process
- Talk and hear in loud environments
- Use hands and fingers to handle, push, grab frequently
- Wear personal protective equipment all day
- Contact with skin irritants or water may occur during the production process
- Work environment can be cold/hot, dirty and noisy. The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to multi-task is a must
- Ability to work independently in a safe manner
- Ability to use and read a tape measure
- Follow instructions presented orally, written or in diagram format
- Forklift equipment operation
- Welding/ fabrication is a plus
- Must be able to work Monday through Saturday when needed
