Concrete Estimator

Coastal Concrete Works is looking to hire a driven, talented, and detail-oriented individual with experience in estimating for a fast-paced commercial concrete and curbing company.  Please continue if you are highly motivated, take pride in seeing your hard work come to life, have strong communication skills, and enjoy making a positive difference in an established and growing organization!   We are looking for an ON-SITE Concrete Construction Estimator, in our Georgetown Delaware office with required background described below and I addition, you must be experienced with structural concrete, curbing and flat work.  You will be expected to take initiative, be allowed to work independently, as well as ask for guidance when needed.   This position does require regular but flexible in-office hours, Salary will be based on experience, and must have your own reliable transportation. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for all trades and review project plans/specification to gain a complete understanding of the projects scope prior to drafting proposals.
• Monitor all addendums, scope changes and breakouts to ensure they are incorporated in the proposal or estimate.
• Communicate with and arrange site meetings with clients to conduct value engineering surveys, scope timelines and interviews with the client that are relevant to the proposal / bid and the ability to estimate deficiencies as needed.
• Proficiently read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprint plans and technical document in order to prepare the proposals based on RFP scores.
• Conduct continuous and ongoing research to obtain the most up to date data on labor costs, material costs, maintenance costs and production times, etc. so that you can promote the best construction practices and product innovation.
•  Maintain strong interpersonal skills and possess the ability to sell and market our services and product to clients.

EXPERINCE / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years’ experience in concrete construction, site work estimation and/or a general contractor or prominent subcontractor, or related experience
• Background in Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, or relevant field experience involving plan or blueprint reviews and/or applications
• Familiarity with industry specific takeoff software
• Exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and an ability to contextualize concrete construction concepts to others in unrelated disciplines
