Job Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for operating multi-slice Computerized Tomography scanners to obtain cross-sectional images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
Work Hours:
Saturday from 8 AM-5 PM; some availability during weekdays may be needed.
Job Duties:
- Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures; accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions.
- Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
- Performs quality assurance on CT scanning equipment according to ACR QA requirements.
- Properly uses the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited two (2) year program in Radiologic Technology is required.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of CT experience is required. Proficient IV skills are preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) by the Radiological Technology of Registered Technologists or CT license is required.
- Currently licensed in Medical Radiological Technology by the Texas State Department of Health or the Texas Medical Board is required.
