Computer Support Analyst

Position Overview:

Analyzes problems and provides technical assistance and support during night shift (10:30pm-7am).

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply strong analytical and technical skills to assist in implementing business solutions
• Exercise core skills on projects and/or direct small teams
• Document an organization's current business process flows
• Design, code, and test functional components of information systems according to project specifications
• Identify and document functional components of information systems according to project specifications
• Conduct user training sessions
• Prepare communications plans
• Produce database extracts
• Provide technical support to software development teams
• Perform program management support tasks, such as status reporting and work plan maintenance
• Analyze problems and provide technical assistance, support, and advice to end users for hardware, software, and systems
• Study and resolve computer software and hardware problems of users
• Act as a contact for users having problems using computer software, hardware, and operating systems
• Determine whether the problem caused is hardware, software, or system
• Answer questions, apply knowledge of computer software, hardware, systems, and procedures

Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• Public Trust Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree and 1 year experience in information systems implementation, change management efforts or business process redesign
• Must demonstrate basic knowledge and experience as a scheduler setting up end-to-end job schedules across mainframe and mid-tier environments using automated methods with the following software products:
  • BMC Control products for z/OS
  • BMC Control products for Distributed Systems 5.0 Reserved, 6.0 Reserved
  • Windows operating systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must demonstrate willingness and aptitude for learning or have basic work experience in the following IBM z/OS mainframe utilities and environments:
  • IBM mainframe utility programs, online/interactive system software such as TSO, ISPF, SDSF, IDMS, DB2, and CICS
  • IBM Job Control Language (JCL)
• In general, will analyze problems and provide technical assistance, support, and advise to end users for hardware, software, and systems
• Beginner skills with:
  • Batch Scheduling Tools and Techniques
  • IBM z/OS
  • Job Control Language (JCL)
  • IBM Mainframe API
  • BMC IT Operations
