Description:
• Mainframe infrastructure monitoring of events and alerts to ensure overall system health.
• Identify, triage and resolve mainframe system or user alerts and incidents within service level agreements for applications such as z/OS, CICS, DB2,TSO and printing.
• Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 helpdesk and users.
• Enterprise batch job scheduling systems monitoring to ensure online application availability.
• Identify, triage, resolve or escalate batch job failures, scheduling bottlenecks, job contentions and failures in automated escalation.
• Fulfill service requests for mainframe and batch scheduling functions including but not limited to adhoc scheduling requests to run or make one time changes to batch jobs, stop/start mainframe tasks
• Work with Tier 3 Mainframe, Scheduling and Business Unit teams to manage non-standard activities such as system and hardware upgrades and application implementations.
• Participate in regular weekend maintenance activities for mainframe infrastructure including performing system IPLs, application check out and escalation.
Qualifications
• Experience with mainframe infrastructure including JES, z/OS, CICS, DB2, TSO, SDSF and ISPF.
• Experience with job scheduling systems including Control-M, Tivoli Workload Scheduler and Jobtrac.
• Experience with automation, monitoring and incident management tools such as OPSMVS for the mainframe, BMC Impact Explorer, BMC Mainview and Service Now ITSM tools.
• Effectively communicate both verbally and written in order to exhibit quality customer service.
• Able to display strong aptitude for logic, problem solving and to maintain composure in a variety of situations.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours in order to cover nights, weekends and holidays in addition to providing regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of open systems and or equivalent experience.
• General understanding of Infrastructure services and support mechanisms (ITIL disciplines).
• Basic understanding of separation of duties and legislation including the Data Privacy Act.
• Understands and able to identify automation of repetitive technical tasks.
