General description
The Comptroller's office is seeking a Accounting Specialist in the Broadband Development Office (BDO). The work involves performing highly advanced (senior-level) accounting work. Work involves preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of financial analyses, preparing state-required reports and preparing federally required reports; establishing, maintaining, and/or overseeing accounting systems, procedures, and controls; and preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of agency budgets. May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The candidate will learn new concepts quickly and apply knowledge appropriately in highly active environment and changing circumstances. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Four years of experience in government contracting and/or accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration.
- Experience in processing vouchers on CAPPS.
- Experience with federal reimbursement requests/draws.
Substitutions
- Experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis (up to four years).
