As Comptroller, you will play a critical role in ensuring sound financial management and compliance. Your skill will be essential in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our organization, as we continue to serve our community.

· Collaborate with our sister organization’s staff to establish effective communication channels and streamline financial processes.

· Review and validate expenditures, ensuring correct coding to cost centers and providing accurate reporting for financial analysis.

· Prepare comprehensive monthly closing reports for review by the CEO, including general ledger reconciliation, departmental budgets, and regular profit and loss reporting.

· Develop and maintain program management tools and systems that align with fiscal policies to effectively track and manage financial resources.

· Perform monthly variance analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures, including preparation of cost and staff allocation analysis by department.

· Oversee and coordinate the annual financial audit, liaising with auditors and addressing any findings or recommendations.

· Prepare grant budgets as requested, aligning financial resources with programmatic goals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

· Responsible for the NetSuite CRM management, and staff training, ensuring system optimization and security.

· Review financial records of community partner organizations that receive support from the Sunrise Association to ensure proper utilization of funding.

· Collaborate with our sister organization on chargebacks and billbacks, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of financial transactions.

· Perform any other duties and responsibilities typically expected in the role of a Controller.

· Oversee benefits programs, including but not limited to life insurance, health insurance, dental insurance, pension plans, vacation benefits, sick leave, and leaves of absence.

Experience Requirements:

· Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; CPA qualification preferred.

· 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, ideally in a non-profit setting.

· Proven track record of overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, internal controls, and financial analysis.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards within the non-profit sector.

· Experience managing and leading teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

· In-depth proficiency with financial management systems (e.g., NetSuite, Abila) and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

· Experience with financial audits and coordinating the audit process.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for data analysis and insights.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate across departments.

· Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to handle diverse tasks and meet deadlines.

· Ethical decision-making skills and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

· Knowledge of fundraising and grant management processes is a plus.
