Compounding Technician

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - Compounding

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the compounding pharmacy technician follows established policies and procedures to perform a variety of technical and clerical support tasks that are integral to the operation of the department. The position works in the non-sterile lab within Preston's Pharmacy.

This technician prepares non-sterile compounded products according to production schedules and patient orders; inventories and orders chemicals and supplies; sets up and prepares all compounding orders; cleans and maintains work area and equipment; restocks drugs, diluents, syringes and needles; recycles and/or destroys returned syringes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• The ability to speak the English language, read, interpret and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy and dependability.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios/proportions) and ability to meet deadlines are all required.
• Will consider applicants without previous compounding experience

Preferred

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and/or PTCB National Certification required.
• 1+ years of compounding experience (sterile or non-sterile)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $38.00 per hour

Education:

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician experience: 1 year (Required)
• Compounding medications: 1 year (Preferred)
