Job description

Duties:

  • Assists with the development, implementation, and management of the Quality Improvement Program for assigned programs or areas.
  • Assists with and performs investigation in support of regulatory compliance and drafts investigation reports. 
  • Communicates policies and procedures, training personnel, and evaluates all aspects of assigned program(s).
  • Prepares written reports including recommendations.
  • Ensures the components of the OUHSC HRPP & IRB are compliant with all aspects of Federal, State, and local regulations as well as institutional, accreditation, and other policies that govern human subject research. 
  • Conduct QI activities on research protocols, IRB minutes, etc.
  • Develops training materials for researchers, research assistants, graduate students, post-docs, and others involved in research.
  • Develops and implements educational materials and provides instruction on all aspects of conducting research.
  • Maintains reports, electronic records, and findings of evaluations conducted.
  • Maintains correspondence to investigator and investigator responses. 
  • Provides report of audit findings to PI, administration as required, HRPP and IRB.
  • Develops reports of results for presentation to the appropriate Director(s).
  • Prepares written reports and presents findings to the Executive Committee. 
  • Generates written evaluation notification to investigators and communicates with research staff on all levels. 
  • Assist the Director of Compliance on reports for upper level management.  
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree in a related field. 

  • 12 months experience with federal regulations in a clinical and/or regulatory environment.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months related experience. 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of federal regulations governing clinical research and experience in a clinical and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to investigate assigned matters and write reports.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical:  Must be able to work in sitting position, use computer and answer telephone.
  • Environmental: Office Work Environment.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Knowledge of federal regulations governing clinical research and experience in a clinical and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
