Job SummaryThis position reports to the University Counsel. This position assists the University Counsel in ensuring the university is in regulatory compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act ("Clery Act"), oversees the MGA Programs Serving Minors, and the MGA Open Records process. This position will facilitate and maintain policies and procedures for the general operation of the programs listed above, conduct related training programs, assist as needed with ethics and compliance hotlines/web portals, manage the compliance process, and assist with monitoring the performance of the compliance program.
ResponsibilitiesClery Compliance Coordinator (30%) -
Serve as the institutions Clery Act Coordinator, oversee the MGA Clery Act Committee, and participate in system-wide Clery Act training opportunities, and supports educational and prevention programming, effectiveness evaluation, and institutional decision-making.
Responsible for collecting, classifying and counting crime reports for use in preparing and publishing annual crime statistics, as well as notification to campus security authorities ("CSA") of their reporting obligations and training on the reporting process.
Responsible for timely preparation, submission and publication of Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report "ASR" and "AFSR").
Program Serving Minors Compliance Coordinator (30%) -
Facilitate the safety and protection of minors both on and off campus through management of MGA Programs Serving Minors compliance with MGA's policies impacting youth safety and protection.
Collaborate with youth program directors, Insurance & Claims Management, Human Resources, Legal Affairs, and other stakeholders to develop and apply MGA Program Serving Minors.
Compliance Programming (25%) -
Update MGA Clery Act, MGA Programs Serving Minors, and MGA open records act policies, procedures, and processes as needed.
Manage all compliance-related training requirements, including assisting in the use of systems and processes for tracking and reporting internal and external training.
Develop education programs and campus events for faculty, staff, and students regarding the Clery Act and Programs Serving Minors, including legal/regulatory requirements related to compliance in both areas.
Serve as a member of the MGA Ethics Hotline Committee
Serve as a member of the MGA Data Governance Committee
Record Production Management (10%) -
Prepares responses to document requests such as subpoenas, open records requests, requests including preparing search terms for electronic searches and reviewing documents for redaction.
Other (5%) -
Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Required Experience
Three years of experience in a compliance related field.
Preferred Experience
Higher Education experience
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of Board of Regents policies and procedures
Knowledge of current and emerging legislation, issues, or trends as related to this position.
Knowledge of the Clery Act
Knowledge of MGA Program Serving Minors
Knowledge of Georgia Open Record Act and Freedom of Information Act requirements
Skill in examining operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing/implementing new strategies and procedures.
