Complex General Surgical Oncology - Ruhs

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group (LLUFMG) is seeking a fellowship-trained Complex General Surgical Oncologist (CGSO) to join our team in the Department of Surgery at Riverside University Health System (RUHS) as Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery.

Patients with of a wide variety of cancers, including breast, GI, hepatobiliary, sarcoma, melanoma, endocrine are managed at RUHS using open, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical approaches. Robotic experience is highly encouraged. The applicant must have a commitment to research and education and will work closely with medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate must be ABS board-certified and CGSO board-eligible or certified and be able to obtain licensure to practice medicine in California.

The successful candidate’s practice will be based at RUHS Medical Center, and it is expected that the individual’s practice will be predominantly Complex General Surgical Oncology, with minimal additional work in complex HPB, benign adrenal, and other cancer-related disease.

RUHS is a 439-bed University-affiliated teaching hospital with over 60 hospital-based primary and specialty care clinics located in Moreno Valley. This facility has been named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, is a new Center of Excellence for Research and is a Primary Stroke Center.

The facility is a Commission on Cancer (COC) accredited academic center and a safety net hospital with level 1 trauma center designation. Additional opportunities at RUHS include the ability to lead various Disease Management Teams through the multidisciplinary tumor board, and to serve as Chair of the COC Cancer Committee, or Cancer Liaison Physician.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $400,000 – $450,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
