The Orange County Department of Social Services has an opening for a art-time Community Social Services Technician. This position is a 20-hour a week, benefited position. This position is responsible for providing assistance and intervention to individuals, children and families. Work involves providing transportation and supervised visitation between parents and children in the foster care program. This position communicates regularly and directly with a team of social workers in the child Welfare Division. This position requires schedule flexibility as the hours adapt to program participants’ schedules which can vary. Work after 5pm and some weekend coverage is required.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a unit supervisor or program coordinator with some leeway to exercise independent judgment with regular guidance. Supervision is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
* This is a safety sensitive position and participation in the Drug and Alcohol Program is required. Background Check is required.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School or General Educational Development (GED) test equivalency AND one (1) year of human service experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a license valid in the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
