Community Service Officer Position
The Winthrop Harbor Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill seasonal positions as Community Service Officers for our North Point Marina Security detail.
The North Point Marina is the largest marina on the Great Lakes and offers 1,500 boat slips on a protected floating dock system. The North Point Marina hosts seasonal festivals, fishing and boating events, as well as boat launch facilities, fishing piers, picnic areas and a public beach.
Security for North Point Marina is provided through the administration and direction of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department.
Responsibilities: As a Marina CSO your duties would include Pier/dock and boat slip safety & security checks, Security checks on surrounding Marina property, vehicle parking enforcement and general assistance to the Marina community. Full training is provided at no cost
Shift hours: Schedules may include 6, 8 and/or 12 hours shifts primarily between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am. We offer flexible scheduling perfectly suited to students and a pleasant outdoor work environment
Compensation: Starting pay is $16.50 per hour
Additional Information: Physical screening is required including pre-employment drug testing. Applicants must be 18 years or older at time of application, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a standard Law Enforcement Background check. This is a seasonal position from May 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024, and offer invaluable work experience for criminal justice students!
