Job description

We are excited to announce our Community Safety Officer opening! The Community Safety Officer will provide security services for the Integrity Mobile Community Care program. The Mobile Community Care team travels throughout Newark via a 33-foot mobile health unit to provide community members with low-threshold substance use treatment screening, assessment, and medication services; harm reduction services; and care coordination. The goal of the program is to improve the health, well-being, and longevity of individuals with substance use disorders, particularly those experiencing opioid use disorders.

The Community Safety Officer is responsible for:

  • Enforce all safety and security rules, regulations, and protocols in accordance with Integrity policies and procedures, and city/state policies when appropriate.
  • Provide professional, ethical, and compassionate security services during community outreach.
  • Monitor conduct of community members/visitors and address unauthorized and/or inappropriate behavior.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and address mobile unit vulnerabilities and hazards.
  • Support team members and community members by providing information and assistance when needed.
  • Facilitate security awareness/Community Safety training for team members.
  • Assist with the completion of incident reports and contribute to incident debrief meetings.
  • Remain current on training in de-escalation, stabilization, CPR, and other areas as identified in training plan.
  • Collaborate with city, county, and state law enforcement and first responder agencies.

Mobile Unit Operation

  • Function as alternative/back-up driver for the unit when needed.
  • Transporting mobile unit to designated sites to deliver services.
  • Remaining current on vehicle operational requirements.
  • Coordinating vehicle maintenance and ensuring vehicle is fueled and clean.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in security, public safety, or in a customer service role that includes experience responding to emergency/crisis situations and identifying/resolving issues that pose risks to individuals.
  • Experienced driver with the ability to fulfill Integrity's safe and responsible driving record requirements.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of community members.
  • Valid driver license.

Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00am-3:00pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
