This position is a full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid internship that will begin on June 3, 2024 and conclude on August 2, 2024.

Job Summary and Scope:
As a Community Relations Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in project management for a variety of Community Relations events, supporting nonprofit engagement, and creating appropriate content for internal and external communications channels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create Veritiv Connects Online content including news articles, volunteer event creation, giving campaigns, and data reporting.
- Research, write and edit a variety of communications materials, including social media posts, blog articles, Community Relations news, engagement opportunities, interviews, etc.
- Periodically attend Community Relations events including by not limited to member organization meetings, volunteer events, nonprofit site visits, etc.
- Act as point of contact for Veritiv volunteer events and outreach for external programs.
- Support the monthly inventory donation process by way of Smartsheet updates, edits, and cross departmental communications.
- Collaborate with the team on new ideas and tools to help enhance communications strategies related to community activities.
- Help coordinate logistics for meetings, special events and/or conferences.
- Support the graphic design department and provide additional team-related support, as necessary.
Qualifications/Knowledge & Experience:
- Must be at least a rising junior, senior or recent college graduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Nonprofit Management, Public Affairs, English or other related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with social media, and digital communications channels preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and effectively prioritize workload.
- Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments.
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
