Job Summary
The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating community sponsorships, partnerships and volunteer engagement activities for Lowe's, with a particular focus on the hometown. The coordinator supports a portfolio of work, which includes community outreach development, in-kind product donations, partnership programs, community events, budget tracking and measurement and evaluation of programs. This role will interact with nonprofit community leaders and associates at all levels within Lowes. This role will also represent Lowe's in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates Community Relations activities, including Foundation, hometown and corporate contributions, in-kind donations, sponsorships, associate volunteer programs (Lowe’s Heroes projects), partnership programs and community events
Manages hometown sponsorship and in-kind donation request process, which includes, but is not limited to reviewing and evaluating requests in alignment with the hometown Community Relations strategies, soliciting feedback from internal stakeholders, identifying the portfolio of hometown sponsorships, communicating decisions to nonprofits about the status of the request. Works closely with key hometown internal and community stakeholders to fulfill benefits associated with the sponsorship including strategically identifying attendees and partnering with other stakeholders such as Public Relations or Diversity & Inclusion and others to help maximize sponsorship benefits.
Supports the hometown grant review process, which includes, but is not limited to building relationships and partnering with nonprofits to develop hometown grant proposals, drafting proposals for internal review and managing relationships with hometown nonprofit organizations.
Works closely with Community Relations team to ensure national partnership agreements are being met; helps coordinate benefits associated with these agreements.
Assists and/or leads events coordination, which may include volunteer recruitment, giveaways and other duties as assigned.
Assists with the maintenance of the department’s invoice tracking, policy and procedures, budget tracking, distribution lists and other operational documents. Prepares invoices for payment, verifies accuracy and receipt of good and services and secures necessary authentication for payment.
Gathers, maintains and provides appropriate documentation for audits and annual reports using measurement tools, systems and other evaluation methods.
Represents Lowe’s in the community, which includes actively engaging and participating in community meetings, events and/or convenings.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Sustainability or similar field and 3-5 Years 3 Years Experience with corporate or foundation giving, grants management and employee volunteer programs
OR
Additional experience in lieu of degree
Experience managing projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communications role or industry, specifically experience in a corporate role within a large organization, preferably retail
Basic HTML and MS Office Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of Charlotte regional priorities
