Job Overview:

The Community Reinvestment Coordinator ("CRC") will be responsible for assisting in the Bank's compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act ("CRA") as it relates to the Bank's community development lending, investment and services. The CRC shall also provide assistance in the oversight of all aspects of the CRA reporting, tracking, and documentation processes including, but not limited to; ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data reporting, communication of potential CRA qualified leads to the Bank's leadership team, promoting local and organizational awareness, and ensuring strategic plan goals are achieved. Additionally, the CRC will provide support in helping current and prospective loan customers with solutions to their commercial, agricultural, real estate and installment loan needs. This person will also interview, underwrite, process and close consumer loans consistent with the Bank's compliance standards and consistent with maintaining positive relationships with existing and potential customers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Customer Service & Public Relations on behalf of 1st Financial Bank USA.
  • Responsible for aggressively making business calls to prospective new customers.
  • Achieve subject matter expertise with respect to CRA, HMDA, and Call Report instruction requirements pertaining to the classification of loans.
  • Manage all data related to the bank's lending activities and ensure appropriate classification loans for CRA purposes.
  • Responsible for HMDA tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure that CRA reporting is consistent with Call Reporting classifications of the Bank's lending activities.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in the writing of its strategic plans, including: identifying the performance context of the community bank's assessment areas, working with management to establish plan goals, and identifying specific initiatives and oversight of the implementation of those initiatives to assure the Bank's success in achieving those defined initiatives.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in the documentation of all CRA related activities, including: write-ups of community development activities, compiling the appropriate documentation supporting the qualification of the activity under the CRA, documentation of correspondence with various leaders, local businesses, and organizations, identifying and documenting potential opportunities and/or constraints related to the Bank's CRA lending, investment, and service opportunities.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in researching and analyzing current loan data and market statistics to find data trends supporting relevant performance context.
  • Active engagement with community leaders and organizations in order to identify potential CRA qualified opportunities and aligns those opportunities with the Bank's resources.
  • Work on identifying and establishing community development partnerships with local nonprofits, Community Development Financial Institutions, Community Development Corporations, Governmental Agencies, City's & Municipalities, and other organizations to support the Bank's CRA strategic plan directives.
  • Identify organizations serving CRA initiatives for potential service hour opportunities for 1st Financial Bank USA representatives.
  • Organize, facilitate, and participate in community outreach programs including financial literacy and small business workshops.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in reviewing requests for charitable donations and ensures all appropriate documentation of those requests are obtained before the distribution of funds.
  • Assist in providing reports to the Bank's CRA Committee, Board of Directors, and Legal Department with self-assessment reports of CRA performance on an annual basis or as requested.
  • Identify potential opportunities to align the Bank current products or potential new products to help achieve defined goals within the Bank's strategic plan.
  • Assist in quality control/auditing of data related to the Bank's lending, donations, and services hours to ensure the data is correct and accurate and appropriate documentation is obtained to supporting the community development activity.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date content of the CRA Public Files.
  • Volunteer with CRA qualified non-profits to provide community development service.
  • Originate, underwrite, analyze and process consumer loan applications.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Banking or lending experience preferred, but not required.

Language/Reasoning/Mathematical or other specific skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and MS Office PC proficiency is essential.
