Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of COVID-19 vaccination and testing activities, to include appointment coordination, in-person canvassing, and public educational events.
2. Collects, analyzes, and reports community feedback regarding vaccination hesitancy.
3. Interprets and applies vaccination-related data to inform initiatives.
4. Supports the strategy, site selection, coordination and implementation of mobile vaccination and testing clinics.
5. Develops monthly project activity plans.
6. Maintains working knowledge of COVID-19 vaccines as well as best practices for prevention and response.
7. Serves as Patient Assistance Specialist for the mobile unit. Verify demographic information, update paperwork, verify insurance, schedule follow-up appointments, and collect applicable copays.
8. Works closely with the Population Health team at VDH, in conjunction with JHC, and undertake other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in public health or health promotion; Associates Degree in nursing with experience conducting Community Outreach.
2. Ability to explain health information to the public in a clear, concise, and accessible manner.
3. Flexibility to mold and change based on scientific discoveries.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate positively to staff members and the general public.
5. Ability to analyze, report, and apply data to ongoing initiatives.
6. Strong oral, to include public speaking, and written communication skills.
7. Strong organizational skills.
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and is able to learn other software as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bilingual - Spanish speaking.
2. Experience performing Community Outreach.
3. Marketing experience.
Physical Demand and Working Environment:
Face paced office setting with travel to other offices often. Lifting and/or exerting force up to 25 pounds occasionally, with frequently moving of objects. Work requires speaking, sitting, bending, walking, standing, hearing, and stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motion with certain activities. Numerous hours of constant computer usage. OSHA low risk position.
