JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the DC Department of Corrections, The Resources to Empower and Develop You (READY) Center. The Department of Corrections (DOC) recognizes the importance of providing information, resources and opportunities that will assist returning citizens upon their release to the community. The Resources to Empower and Develop You (READY) Center is a consolidated location where formerly incarcerated District of Columbia residents can access services from Community Based Organizations (CBO), the Department of Corrections (DOC), Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Employment Services (DOES), Department of Human Services (DHS), Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), and The Mayor's Office on Returning Citizen Affairs (MORCA), to ensure successful reintegration into the community. The primary purpose of the position is the ensure that the READY Center is connected to the necessary community-based organization in efforts to best support the re-acclimation into society from incarceration for citizens housed in DOC custody.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and participates in a number of Community Outreach activities, to include, but not limited to, community meetings, workshops, activities, etc. Coordinates the outreach schedules to establish relationships with the other DC agencies and community-based organizations. Works with the identified population on determining appropriate interventions for success after reentry. Establishes and maintains relationships with partnering agencies and organizations and serves as the liaison to the READY Center.
Conducts outreach and townhall meetings to educate the community on the READY Center. Determines goals and objectives for screening community-based partnerships pertaining to participant's need. Conduct needs assessments with READY Center participants and potential participants to determine targeted outreach for organizational partnerships. Prepares and delivers written and oral communication. Support the READY Center Director in managing current government agency partnerships and determining overall performance outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, at least one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office setting, but will require visits to the Correctional Treatment Facility and Central Detention Facility.

Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.
Position Designation: The incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability – Safety Sensitive. This position is subject to mandatory pre-employment and periodic Criminal Background Checks. This position is also subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
TB test will be required prior to entry on duty.
