Purpose
The Community Organizer coordinates all logistics for community engagement opportunities by working with County/City, businesses, Universities/Colleges, ECBO's, volunteers, co-sponsors, and faith/community organizations. The CEC is also responsible for cultivating new relationships with a focus on sustainable supportive relationships.
Responsibilities
Conducts outreach and support for new/existing relationships with potential partners, maintains positive working relationships.
  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Educate existing and potential partners on the CWS Rochester resettlement program.
  • Social media and website maintenance oversight.
  • Attends and presents in monthly community meetings in order to share the challenges and strengths of refugee resettlement.
  • Support administrative aspects of programs to meet the objectives and goals.
  • Liaises with local/regional municipalities, businesses, Universities/Colleges, ECBO's, volunteers, co-sponsors, and faith/community organizations for program support and development.
  • Coordinates co-sponsorship and community support teams with local local/regional municipalities, businesses, Universities/Colleges, ECBO's, volunteers, co-sponsors, and faith/community organizations.
  • Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of programs.
  • Work with community members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs and services, plan and manage outreach activities for increased awareness of programs.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to programs and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: 2-year college degree preferred, strong organizational skills, public speaking, and social/human services advocacy
Experience:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of one year's previous work experience in human services/social advocacy related services, familiarity with U.S. refugee and/or immigration issues and terminology. A background in community resources, case management or human service delivery is desirable.
Skills:
• Strong computer literacy with knowledge of word processing, social media platforms,
and database applications.
• Ability to use standard office equipment in performing varied activities.
• Attention to detail, organization, and schedule
• Respect of confidentiality.
• Strong English writing skills.
• Language fluency in written and spoken English is required
• Must have excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with MS Office
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required.
