Our Community Medicine department offers a High-Quality High Volume (HQHV) Spay/Neuter Clinic delivering full fee, sliding scale and free spay & neuter services to serve all people and pets in our community. We are looking for a motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our Spay & Neuter department. In this role you get to work closely with patients, participate in the flow of patient care, and assist the RVT's and DVM's. This role would be an excellent opportunity to grow your exposure to a high-quality, high-volume spay & neuter clinic and prepare you for your journey into veterinary technology.
The Role:
- Assist in patient intake & discharge
- Assist in patient flow through induction, prep and recovery
- Assist RVT's & DVM's
Requirements:
We invite applicants who have experience in veterinary assisting. Must have skills include:
- Taking patient vitals & knowledge of normal/abnormal values
- General knowledge of vaccines and how to administer them
- Basic venipuncture skills
- Safe & humane patient handling
Schedule Requirements:
Full time and part time positions are available (Tuesday - Saturday). Our shifts are on a 4x10 schedule; 7a-6p.

Compensation + Benefits:
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $26-$32 per hour. Starting pay will depend on the length and breadth of experience. Our location is easy access from the freeway, a 10-minute walk from the 16th street BART station, and there is an on-site free, employee parking lot.
