Community Impact Liaison, Community Relations
UC Health is hiring for a Full-Time Community Impact Liaison in the Community Relations department. This position will be hybrid.
The Community Impact Liaison connects UC Health to the greater Cincinnati area, engaging local neighborhood, community, business, and civic leaders to advance partnerships around shared priorities. The Community Impact Liaison will advise the organization on how it should strategically focus its resources - both financial and people - to improve the physical and economic health of the community while advancing the UC Health brand and strategic goals. This is a public forward-facing position serving as a liaison between UC Health and the communities we serve. The primary responsibility of this position involves connecting UC Health teams with our local communities, fostering positive relationships, and promoting community involvement. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community development, be a strong communicator, empathetic, capable of efficiently handling various inquiries and requests, have a results-oriented team attitude, and be capable of implementing creative engagement strategies.
This position reports to the Vice President and Chief of Government and Community Relations, works alongside the government and community relations teams, and with senior leadership, clinical and faculty leadership, and others to assist in the development and execution of UC Health's strategic and community health strategy.

Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Partnerships
  • Identify, develop & maintain relationships with key community & business stakeholders throughout market region and act as the liaison between these organizations and the health system.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and community-based organizations to facilitate the development of community partnerships and assist in the translation of partnerships into operational strategies.
  • Facilitate and maintain communication between internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate outreach activities.
  • Monitor and report on achievement of committed action plans.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking funding and sponsorship requests.

Effective Communication and Transparency
  • Partner with enterprise-wide team (clinical, administrative and program leaders) to deeply understand the scope of our collective work, the strategic and community health strategy, desired outcomes, ensuring clarity and alignment from the outset.
  • Partner and engage in clear communication to the internal team (clinical, administrative and program leaders) about project status, milestones, and key developments.
  • Develop project work plans and timelines that foster team-wide transparency, ensuring everyone is aligned and engaged in achieving project objectives.
  • Capture valuable insights and learnings from each project, documenting them to enhance future standard work process and continually improve internal practices.
  • Staff monthly team meetings to develop, monitor and oversee the implementation and outcomes of the community relations strategy.
  • Support internal infrastructure for this work including internal and external communication and visibility

Volunteerism
  • Represent the organization as a leader in the community, projecting a positive image to, includes serving on boards/ committees or taskforces that support our work.
  • Manage UC Health's volunteer program.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 3-5 years equivalent experience required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • The Community Impact Liaison is a high-visibility position that must be skilled at relationship building, have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • The individual must also have a positive attitude, empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse communities, and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations, a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, and be skilled in constructive conflict resolution.
  • This is a fast-paced office environment requiring excellent time management skills, adaptability, flexibility, ability to work independently and on teams, attention to detail and strong organizational skills, and a readiness to assist the Team with special projects as assigned.
