PROVAIL has an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Assistant to join our team! In this role you will assist and support clients develop skills that will increase their community integration by introducing and connecting a client to community supports, resources, and activities to help the client fully access their community for daily living needs or to reduce social isolation.
This is a full-time position that typically works Monday-Friday during normal business hours but may require some need for occasional nights/weekends-based business needs.

They created some of the first community services for individuals with cerebral palsy and other complex support needs in the area. We help people decide how they want to live their life in the community and then provide the support services they need to act on those choices. We are one of the state's largest private, multi-service agencies dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adults with all types of disabilities.

What you'll do:
  • Assist clients with development of their Community Engagement plan and submit quarterly progress reports.
  • Provide Community Engagement support either to individuals or small groups- up to four clients- who have the same or similar interests.
  • Ensure that all services provided must be consistent with the needs, goals, and interests outlined in the client's service plan.
  • Assist the client in finding leaders and members of community resources so that they can become active community members and build relationships based on common interests.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:
  • HCA certification in good standing OR CNA certification.
  • Preferred experience working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, clients and their families, home staff, employers, funding sources, and the community.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
  • Possession of a current and valid Washington driver's license with a good driving record, access to a vehicle, and maintenance of insurance acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier.
  • Familiarity with the community in which the participant resides, including knowledge of community organizations, informal clubs, community projects, and businesses.
