Are you looking for an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence and adolescent relationship abuse? Do you want to assist in reducing the incidence and prevalence of intimate partner violence? Do you have a passion for education?
Our Community Educators provide information to middle schools and high schools, colleges and universities, youth groups, faith-based communities and other community groups to help raise awareness by providing age-appropriate information on these and related topics. Community Educators have the opportunity to engage in prevention programming in order to reduce the incidence and prevalence of intimate partner violence within various sectors of the community.
- Serve as a liaison for Montgomery County Schools, colleges, youth and young adult groups, faith-based, and community groups seeking domestic violence and teen dating violence presentations, outreach activities and materials
- Develop and implement customized training and education material for presentation to specific audiences
- Present established curricula for middle and high schools, youth and young adult groups, and colleges throughout Montgomery County
- Facilitate Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month projects such as social media campaigns and Art Poster Contest
- Represent Laurel House at collaborative networks, task force meetings, community events, etc.
- Update statistics and organization contact information
- Bachelor's or higher degree preferred, but not required
