Shifts:
Tuesday - Saturday 7:00am - 3:00pm
Summary:
The Community Corrections Leader will supervise crew members who are serving off sentences of criminal activities (typically minor level offenses). These crew members would be performing a variety of tasks throughout the work day such as mowing, trimming, picking up trash, shoveling, and some minor level maintenance type duties. Your role would be to ensure the work is being done and properly documenting all activities. Each day you would start out by picking up a vehicle, trailer, and needed equipment, then you would proceed to a pre-determined pick up location for the crew members and transport them to the work site(s) for the day while you supervise their activities and ensure work is being done and no inappropriate behavior or actions occur.
Community Corrections Leader Job Responsibilities:

- Working with Department of Corrections for County Contracts to provide oversight of work crews assigned to the Sentence to Serve program.
- Organize daily activities for crews and oversee completion of work to assure both safety and high quality of work performed.
- Transportation of crew members to and from sites via passenger van and affixed utility trailer.
- Provide orientation training for crew members
- Schedule dates and times for crew members to report to work
- Assign work tasks to crew members based upon each individual’s capabilities and project completion.
- Rate crew members overall work performance and document for county supervisory staff.
- Maintain record of hours completed by each individual and notify referral source of program completion
- Write clear and concise incident reports in the event of an emergency situation or potential violation of the program.
- Initiate open lines of communication with personnel.
- Identify and attempt to resolve conflicts between crew members.
- Maintains safe driving practices and vehicle care procedures as required.
- Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
- Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
- Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
- Provides excellent customer service
- Many duties will involve physical activities including mowing, lawn trimming, collecting trash, snow blowing, shoveling, and other types of services similar.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Community Corrections Leader Minimum Qualification:
- Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Valid Driver’s License with no more than 3 minor moving violations in the past 3 years, and no major violations in the past 5 years
- Ability to operate a passenger van and affixed utility trailer in a safe manner
- A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
- Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
- Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
- Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality

- Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.
- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to push, pull or drag and adult to safety from hazardous situations.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time, while frequently safely entering and exiting the motor vehicle.
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
