Person County Group Homes Inc is a non-profit organization in Roxboro, NC. We provider care and support to individuals who reed it most in our community. Our clients are individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) or traumatic brain injury (TBI). Each of our clients' goals and needs are unique. We support our clients in their home, at their work and/or out in the local community.
We currently need a compassionate and caring person to act as a Direct Support Professional. The ideal candidate will compassionately work with and care for clients in the local area with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities, Traumatic Brain injury and other varying Mental Health diagnoses. The position requires working on clients' goals with on a daily basis and dealing with challenging situations, therefore it's important that the successful candidate is attentive to detail, has strong problem-solving skills and is comfortable interacting with people while they are in stressful situations.
- You must be willing to assist clients with living as independently as possible. while enhancing their lives through community engagement.
- You must provide compassionate care as per an individualized care plan.
- You enjoy working with intellectually, developmentally and/or physically disabled individuals, some of whom have far more pronounced needs than others.
- You are a team player who will interact positively with other members of the care team to best serve the clients and their families.
- You wish to be part of constructing, implementing, reassessing and adjusting an individualized care plan based on the person's preferences, goals and needs.
- You are capable of conducting crisis intervention if and when it is needed
- You will commit to understanding and abiding by state and federal regulations governing your role as a Direct Support Professional / "Community Caregiver"
