Job Summary
To work closely with the Leaders of Community Care, assist with preparation and execution of “Saturday Serve Events”, assist with all other Community Care events, and with anything else needed by the director or assistant director.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities
- Assist with all logistics of Saturday Serves including but not limited to:
- Registration for Saturday Serve
- Dream Team and Staff Assignments
- Dream Team and Staff Communication
- Maintain & Update Website
- All Staff, Dream Team, and Guest communication regarding events
- Check-in
- Refreshments/Lunch
- Team Assignments
- Transportation
- Supplies
- Rally set-up
- Budget
- Manage E Space
- Manage “Saturday Serve” t-shirt supplies
- Maintain and update Saturday Serve Playbook
- Assist Leaders with other Community Care Ministries and Events
- Season of Giving
- Dream Team Appreciation
- Community Care Serve Team (movers, builders, helpers)
- Disaster Response
- Assist with Office and Supply Management
- Inventory and Stocking
- Maintaining Storage Areas
Job Requirements
- Work schedule: 20 hours a week Monday-Friday, with a coordinated lunch break. Days of the week are flexible. Assisting with all Saturday Serves and other special events as needed.
- Represent the church culture well to all guests and staff members.
- Represent the church with a positive, energetic, and friendly manner, promptly assisting people whenever needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned and required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of the Heart of James River Church and Community Care.
- Exhibit good judgement, honesty, integrity, responsibility through the utilization of professional work standards
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, civic organizations, business professionals and the general public
Code of Conduct and Character
James River Church is Pastor-led, and staff driven with board oversight. James River Church staff are expected and considered to share in the responsibility of practicing and propagating the Christian gospel message and upholding the doctrine of the Church (the employer), as stated on our website and in our Bylaws. As leaders and ministers of the gospel, staff therefore agree to the following:
1. Develop and maintain a close personal walk with the Lord including:
a. Daily devotional time with Lord
b. Daily dependence on the empowerment of the Spirit
2. Develop a strong marriage and family life. This includes:
a. Communicating and sharing with your spouse
b. Spending time together on days off and when extra time is available
3. Keep personal finances in order with no delinquencies
4. Attend all regularly scheduled services in the church. Special services and functions will be required as deemed necessary by the Lead Pastor
5. Maintain a high level of personal integrity, honesty, and confidentiality in dealing both with the staff and congregation
6. Always maintain a Christian outlook and attitude
7. Maintain loyalty to the staff and church, actively promoting unity within the church
