Under the direction of the Manager, Communications, the Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual is responsible for providing internal and external communication services that target IEHP Members, Providers, community partners, healthcare agencies, and the specified language speaking public. The Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual will provide strategic support for IEHP’s communications and public relations initiatives and is also responsible for project management from the first stage of creative development to project completion. To develop all materials requested, the Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual will work with all applicable departments to develop the strategic/creative direction and work with Graphic Designers, English Communication Writers, external translation vendors, and Communications Coordinators to make sure all projects are created and delivered on time.

Education & Experience

• Three (3) years of experience in writing and understanding both written specified language and English in prior positions.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution required.
• Certified specific language translator or equivalent.

Key Qualifications

• Detail oriented to the translation process and associated audiences. Must understand translation ethic principles and confidentiality. Understands specified terminology.
• Proficient in specified language and English grammar, computer skills, familiarity with healthcare industry a plus.
• Sensitive to cultural nuances, ability to write for a 6th grade reading level.
