Description
We are looking for a full time Communications Specialist to join the team! Responsible for providing administrative and communications support to the organization by identifying media opportunities and creating content for social media, assist in event planning, manage annual surveys, produce various types of correspondence and provide backup reception duties as necessary. As the Communications Specialist, you are an integral part of the team, reporting to the Communications Director.

Description
We are looking for a full time Communications Specialist to join the team! Responsible for providing administrative and communications support to the organization by identifying media opportunities and creating content for social media, assist in event planning, manage annual surveys, produce various types of correspondence and provide backup reception duties as necessary. As the Communications Specialist, you are an integral part of the team, reporting to the Communications Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with leadership to identify media opportunities and assist in managing social media/online presence.
- Assist in the planning of social and fundraising events.
- Manages physical mailing projects, invitation lists, RSVP lists, and other duties as necessary.
- Assist with design of marketing materials for internal and external use.
- Regularly attend community events and meetings, as requested by supervisor.
- Manage the COPE brand/corporate identity, including but not limited to, corporate design (logo), corporate communication (marketing), and corporate behavior (mission, vision, and values).
- Become familiar with and manage donor database.
- Maintain Survey Monkey platform to assist with annual surveys.
- Contribute to success of all fundraising and special event activities by providing support, maintaining, and updating records, spreadsheets, tracking, data entry and database support.
- Produce various types of correspondence, to include letters, newsletters, meeting minutes, Press Releases, and presentations.
- Provides backup reception duties when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts with an emphasis on Communications, Business or Digital Arts, plus 3 years of experience in digital graphic design, online content, and/or project management. Equivalent work experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in an administrative support role.
- Minimal experience in Videography/Photography editing
- Knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc
- Knowledge/experience with Constant Contact, WordPress or other website management platform, Canva, InDesign, Survey Monkey, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience volunteering and/or working with nonprofit(s).
